(MENAFN) Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) director general, Essa Al Maidoor, stated that the emirate launched a 12-year masterplan to develop the healthcare sector and enhance medical tourism, reported Arabian Business.
Al Maidoor added that the plan includes overhauling the Rashid Hospital, launching 3 new hospitals and 40 health centers, all at a cost of USD820 million.
He said that the hospital will see the addition of 4 and 5-star hotel, villas and apartments for staff, and a mosque.
It will also comprise 3 towers with 300 beds, each, in addition to new outpatient building; a rehabilitation center; and around 6,500 car parking spaces.
It is worth noting that under the masterplan, the current Rashid Hospital will be demolished, eventually.
