(MENAFN) Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED) stated that in November, the number of licenses issued by the department jumped 15 percent from last year’s same period, reported Emirates 24/7.
Saeed Matar Al Marri, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector, DED, said that in the month, the number of issued licenses reached 1,278, up from 1,110 licenses in 2011’s same month.
Al Marri added that the professional sector contributed with most of the month’s rise, surging by 40 percent from a year ago, followed by the industrial sector, which grew by 13 percent and the commercial sector, which rose 9 percent.
On the other hand, the total number of licenses amended last month went up by 7 percent, reaching 4,802 licenses.
It is worth noting that in November, reserved trade names climbed by 25 percent to 5,149, whereas initial approvals for new business initiatives increased by 32 percent to 2,351.
