(MENAFN) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said that it inked a consultancy contract with ILF engineers for the development of emirate’s USD3.26 billion 1,000 megawatt solar energy park, reported Gulf News.
Dewa added that the contract also included the establishment of a 10 MW solar project.
It also said that the solar energy park would be forecasted to start generating electricity by the end of next year; moreover, the cost of the first solar project in the park would be USD32.66 million.
On the other hand, electricity generation at the 10MW project would be expected to begin by 2013’s fourth quarter.
It is worth noting that Dubai will hold an international tender by June to award deals for the first project, whereas the contract for the 10MW project is expected to be awarded by the third quarter of the current year.
