(MENAFN) Dubai Taxi Corp (DTC) reported USD58.2 million net profit in 2012, up from USD39.74 million a year earlier, Arabian Business reported.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (TRA), to which the company belongs, said total operational revenues of the DTC reached USD296.68 million last year, slightly higher than the USD285.79 million in 2011.
DTC’s last year expenses reached USD204.1 million, the RTA added.
Last month, Dubai’s taxi services were named the third best in the world, according to a study by travel website TripAdvisor.
DTC’s fleet completed a total of 37.25 million trips at a daily average of 111,528 trips in 2012, nearly four million more than the previous year.
Passengers who used DTC’s taxis increased 10 percent to 74.5 million passengers last year from 67.1 million in 2011.
