(MENAFN) Dubai-based telecom operator du, plans to add 1 million fresh mobile phone numbers early next year, Arabian Business reported.
The number will be set under the new prefix code number (0529) in the first quarter of 2012. du’s plan was approved by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
Chief Commercial Officer Farid Faraidooni said the plan will enable du to expand its existing over five million subscribers base.
According to du’s analysis, the additional one million lines would support customers’ demand for six months.
du launched its telecom services in February 2007, breaking the monopoly previously held by Etisalat.
