(MENAFN) Dubai”s trade in fragrance, beauty and fashion-related sectors were estimated at USD56.07 billion in 2013 compared to their worth in 2012, according to the Emirates 24/7.
The sectors’ worth posted 8 percent rise during the twelve-month period from 2012.
Dubai Exports reported that the emirates’ exports and re-exports in those sectors boosted by 10 percent in 2013.
Engineer Saad Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Exports, said: “The fragrance and allied sectors form a major component of trade in Dubai, especially the luxury and retail industry.”
He added: “As Dubai moves to a new level of growth and economic activity in the emirate continues to generate growing interest worldwide, it”s time to take a fresh look at the potential in these sectors.”
