(MENAFN) Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority’s (RTA) Chairman of Board and Executive Director, Mattar Al Tayer, stated that the authority’s budget for the current year is set at USD1.69 billion, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Tayer said that of the amount, USD822 million is allocated for the operational budget and USD876 million for capital and projects budget.
He added that total revenues for 2013 are forecasted to rise 11 percent from 2012, reaching USD1.11 billion.
Moreover, the USD857 million projects budget will be allotted for the construction of nearly 100 projects, including 45 new projects covering roads, marine transport, public transport and operational buildings, as well as completing works in 55 projects in progress at the current time.
It is worth noting that 37 percent of the total budget is allocated for the Rail Agency; 34 percent for Traffic & Roads Agency; 15 percent for Public Transport Agency; and 14 percent for the Licensing Agency and the Corporate Administrative & Technical Support Services.
