Dutch firm Van Oord wins USD695m deal in Kuwait

(MENAFN) Dutch firm Van Oord has been awarded with a USD695 million contract to provide land reclamation services in Kuwait, Arabian Business reported.

The deal, with the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), will see Van Oord dredge land for the construction of a refinery.

The contract is the first phase of the Kuwaiti company’s USD25 billion investment in the new refinery, which is set to produce 615,000 barrels per day.

CEO of Van Oord said: “The Middle East has been very important to Van Oord for decades, and we are pleased to continue working and strengthening our position in this area with this contract.”
