Egypt allots EGP22.5bn to boost elect distribution networks

(MENAFN) The Ministry of Elect has collected EGP22.5bn for the conservation of cables and developing elect amid the nation through the coming three years.

Accordingly, the plan of the ministry this year is focused on improving the elect grid and establishing automated control centers, as well as installing smart meters.

Moreover, it also includes replacing the distribution panels and improving the performance of the major lines, replacing sub-lines and supporting the grids of cities and villages.

In addition, elect distribution firms will obtain a loan from regional banks worth EGP19.4bn, while almost EGP3.1bn will be allocated from elect distribution firms.
