(MENAFN) Egypt imposed a USD 101.35 per ton tax on exported sugar until the end of this recent year.
Moreover, the country cancelled a current tariff levied on sugar imports in Feb after finishing an investigation into dumping of the commodity.
In addition, it has executed the 20 percent tariff last year for 200 days trailing a filing to safeguard local producers from a damaging in imports.
Meanwhile, Egypt consumes almost 3.2mn tons of sugar yearly, while produces only more than 2mn tons.
