(MENAFN) Egypt predicts to sale 279,300 vehicles by the end of this year, sales will decrease by 5 percent since 2014 with a whole of 279,340 will be sold by the end of 2015 compared to 292,980 a year earlier.
Moreover, 2015 sales are more than the sales achieved from 2009 to 2013, whereas for passenger cars, AMIC valued the sale of 196,470 cars this year compared with 2014.
Accordingly, the automotive sector is a huge employer, where for each thousand sold cars, 22 job chances are provided “in addition to indirect jobs”.
However, the sector is still facing many problems, including the arguments between car importers and the Egyptian Customs Authority above the revealing prices of imported cars.
