Egypt inks 3 new deals for oil, gas exploration at USD79mn

(MENAFN) Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum inked three new oil and gas exploration deals in the Egyptian Western Desert with Egyptian General Petroleum Corp and American firms Apache and Merlon at USD79mn value.

In addition, the first and second deals were inked with the Apache Co. in the concession areas northwest of Razak in the Western Desert with investments of USD61mn and south of Al-Shaweesh at USD12mn.

Meanwhile, the third convention was inked with the Merlon Co. in Fayuom’s concession area in the Western Desert with investments of USD6mn.

Moreover, the petroleum sector has succeeded in the conclusion of 79 new oil and gas exploration deals with investments of almost USD15bn.
