(MENAFN) Egypt’s non-petroleum exports saw a 16.5 percent decline in value throughout the previous year as opposed to 2014, based on recent reports.
Based on Egypt’s General Authority for Export and Import’s data, exports over the cited year made USD18.6 billion in income compared to USD22.2 billion in 2014.
Meanwhile, petchem and fertilizers segment attained most exports at a value of USD2.9bn, the building materials sector came 2nd with USD2bn worth of exports.
One of the many reasons that contributed to the plunge is suspending shipping of commercial cargo on passenger flights bound for New York and Canada.
