(MENAFN) Egypt plans to double production of its famous export, the silky soft cotton, known as white gold, after a period of slumping output.
Accordingly, production should increase to 160kg in the 2017/18 fiscal years that started in July from 700.000 gintar in 2016.
However, production of the cotton, utilized in luxury bedding, has declined since 2011, a year of political upheaval that accorded with looser regulations.
Additionally, the country’s sunny skies and superior seed support it increase cotton known for unusually long fibers that generate a light durable fabric.
