Egypt to launch coal power plant in Hamrawein

(MENAFN) The Ministry of Elect will get offers from five firms to establish a coal-fueled power plant in Hamrawein by March, 2017 at a capacity of 6.000 MW per hour.

These companies are of Chinese, Japanese, South Korean and American origin, while the Ministry of Elect will receive offers from Shanghai Elect and others.

In addition, the Ministry also allocated EGP33bn to expand and support the national elect grid over the coming two years.

Moreover, he also aims to increase elect interconnection lines with other Arab nations to 2.000 MW, alongside the Egypt-Saudi Arabia elect interconnection project.
