Egyptian pilots demand reforms

13 Jun 2013

(MENAFN) Many flights had to be delayed in Cairo airport as Egyptian pilots went on a sit-in protest.

The protest, which resulted in the delay of 14 flights, was staged to demand changes in the company’s top management and the payment of bonuses proposed by the pilots. Egypt Air official Ahmed Shahin said.

The move by Egyptian pilots resembles many other protests and strikes have been undergoing throughout Egypt demanding reforms in all governmental sectors.

The turmoil that toppled Egypt’s former president has fed growing economic and political woes, often leaving the country struggling to retain a semblance of normalcy.
