(MENAFN) Egypt has posted an 80.94 percent fall in natural gas exports in April compared to the same period 2013 as export gas was diverted to cover a domestic energy crisis, according to Arab News.
Gas production also saw a 14.66 percent drop in April compared to the same period 2013.
The value of exports was estimated at the total USD30.5 million in April compared to USD160 million in the same month 2013.
The government said in the past few years that it plans to divert most gas output to the domestic market to cover the demand.
