(MENAFN) The consumer price index (CPI) in Egypt for Sep this year recorded a decrease of 1.3 percent compared to 1.9 percent in August.
Moreover, this means prices grew at a rate of 1.3 percent in Sep, which was attributed to price hikes on commercial goods for tobacco and related products by 14.9pct.
On the other hand, food and beverage prices posted an increase of 0.7 percent, showing a 0.38 percent growth in CPI compared to July.
In addition, transportation and communications services grew by 0.6 percent, which shows a 0.02 percent increase in CPI compared to August.
