Egypt’s private sector obtains 66.3pct of total bank loans

(MENAFN) The private sector has acquired 66.3 percent of whole loans offered by banks to their clients until Dec, compared to 70 percent by the end of Sep.

Accordingly, the loans granted to the private sector showed 55.3 percent of total loans offered by the five major banks to their clients, while it posted 59.6pct at the ten largest banks.

Recently, the banks working in the regional market have made allocations of 99.1 percent for total non-performing loans in Dec, compared to 99pct in Sep 2016.

Furthermore, the banks have increased their allocations to comprise the non-performing loans, in light of the revaluation of loans in foreign currency.
