Egypt’s Suez Canal sees 6.5 percent fall in transit

(MENAFN) Suez Canal witnessed transfers of 316 ships over the past week with a whole load of 19.088mn tones, from the period 13-19 November, according to data.

Almost 45 ships each day transfer the canal regularly in the last 2 week, with an average weight of 2.7mn tones, from an average of 48 two weeks earlier.

Furthermore; before the induction of the New Suez Canal, the average daily number of transiting vessels valued 47 vessels, over July 2015.

Moreover; the number of ships that went through the new channel reached almost 160 ships, a daily average of 23 vessels.
