Egypt’s trade balance deficit falls by 19.9pct

(MENAFN) The value of Egypt’s trade balance deficit reached EGP27.83bn amid Oct 2016, as opposed to EGP34.75bn in the same period of 2015, a decline of 19.9 percent.

On the other hand, the value of exports grew by 21.4 percent, as it reached EGP16.22bn through Oct 2016, against EGP13.36bn for the same period of 2015.

The increase was attributed to the growing value of some commodities, involving fertilizers by 196.5 percent, crude oil by 71.1 percent and furniture by 45.1pct.

However, the value of imports decreased by 8.4 percent as it reached EGP44.05bn amid Oct 2016, against EGP48.11bn for the same month of 2015.
