Egypt’s Transportation Ministry to start road& railway projects

(MENAFN) The Ministry of Transportation will start the national project for the rehabilitation of the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) at a cost of EGP5bn.

Accordingly, the ministry will increase the maintenance fleet of the Egyptian National Railways, with investments of 4mn euros.

Recently, the ministry is enacting procedures to separate the transportation of goods and assign that activity to a mutual stock firm in co-op with the private sector.

Additionally, the authority is working to ink a deal in order to buy six diesel trains at a cost of 126mn euros, while talking with global firms to offer 700 low-class with 50 percent of its components being regional.
