(MENAFN) Data released by Egypt’s Central Agency Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed that unemployment rate in the country was down to 12.7 percent in the second quarter.
These latest figures compare to the 12.8 percent register in the first-quarter period of 2015 and the figure of 13.3 percent registered during the second-quarter of 2014.
The number of unemployed individuals reached 3.5 million, marking 12.7% of the total labor force. It has decreased by 25,000 compared to the prior quarter, and by 141,000 compared on-quarter.
The labour force volume reached approximately 27.8 million, marking a 0.2% percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2015, and an increase of 0.8 percent for the first quarter of 2014.
