(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi-based Masdar has been investing heavily in the expansion and development of renewable energy in Mauritania by implementing nationwide schemes, based on recent reports.
The firm will start with building seven solar photovoltaic projects, which are Masdar’s second initiative in Mauritania, and focuses on clean energy generation and distribution in remote areas.
Respectively the seven power plants, which will have a total capacity of 12MW, will approximately meet 30 percent of electricity demand for each of the towns in which they are being developed.
“We are confident that these PV plants will further serve as testament to the tremendous social impact that Masdar’s global renewable energy projects are facilitating,” said Masdar’s CEO.
