(MENAFN) Emirates Airlines said that they are expecting to increase the number of Airbuses the carrier currently has to reach 68 Airbus A380s by the end of 2015, Gulf News reported.
The carrier, which expects to increase its current number by 55 A380s by the end of this year, from an order of 140 planes it has placed, with these planes expected to be placed on new routes the carrier is currently developing.
Emirates Airlines, which shifted from using Boeing 777s to A380s in October to Dallas, said that it will make a similar shift for its San Francisco and Houston flights in December.
“If Airbus is investing the money to do that making A380neos, a new engine, because it will bring more efficiency, we would buy more if Airbus is developing the neo version,” Emirates Executive VP and CCO said.
