(MENAFN) Emirates airline, the largest carrier by global capacity registered 65 percent growth in gross profit to USD843.8 million over the first six months of its financial year, based on reports.
However, according to the airline, total income deteriorated 4 percent in the six months to September touching USD11.5 billion, as opposed to USD12 billion reported in the previous year.
Additionally, this slightly underperformance was basically attributed to a strong US dollar against many top currencies; ongoing regional conflict and a weak outlook in many economies.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to build on our core strengths by investing in new ways to improve efficiencies and deliver the best customer outcomes,” said the firm’s Chief Executive.
