Emirates airlines seeks to add more routes in US

23 Sep 2014

(MENAFN) Emirates Airline, the world’s largest international carrier, announced it is seeking to expand its US service, which would make America one of its three largest sources of profit, Gulf News reported.

The US currently drives just 7 percent of Emirates’ sales, but the region is hugely important to the carrier and that is the airline is now looking in the process of looking for new cities to add to its network after beginning service last month in Chicago, its ninth destination in the country.

Meanwhile, US airline executives have been wary of Emirates because of their claim that the airline unfairly benefits from subsidies by the UAE, which caused the airline to grow to a fleet of 230 jets, flying 43 million people to 150 destinations each year around the world.
