(MENAFN) Emirates Airlines said they are not interested in investing in the international operations of Qantas, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
In the most drastic restructuring step since Qantas was privatized two decades ago, the airline is separating its international arm from its domestic business which will allow a foreign airline to take as much as a 49 percent stake in the company.
Analysts had suggested that Emirates could be interested but Emirates’ CCO said that such a move doesn’t fit with the airline’s strategy of buying planes and investing in products but not buying shares.
