Emirates raises Vietnam route capacity

(MENAFN) Emirates Airline’s senior vice president Commercial Operations Far East & Australasia, Salem Obaidalla, announced that the carrier has increased capacity on its Dubai-Ho Chi Minh route, reported Arabian Business.

Obaidalla said that the Dubai-based airline has launched a larger Boeing 777-300ER plane for the service, which was launched on June 4, with daily, non-stop flights.

He noted that the operation of the new plane will have a positive impact on Vietnam’s import and export industry, adding that the route will see the addition of 84 tons of weekly capacity, with commodities carried consisting of clothing, consumer goods, perishables, automobile and machinery and steel and petroleum products.

It is worth noting that mutual trade between the UAE and Vietnam surpassed USD1.2 billion last year.
