Emirates to launch A380 services to Perth

(MENAFN) Emirates Airline’s president, Tim Clark, said that the world’s biggest operator of the Airbus superjumbo will operate A380 services to Australia’s Perth, reported Arabian Business.
Clark said that the move would be launched as soon as the Western Australian airport finishes work on a new dedicated boarding bridge.
He added that the airport is forecasted to finish the dedicated A380 boarding complex by mid-2013, which will allow the Dubai-based carrier to add a daily A380 service and twice-daily 777 flights to the emirate.
At the current time, Perth Airport’s international terminal has only one boarding bridge per plane, whereas the A380 ideally requires 3 and at least 2.
Starting December 1, Emirates will launch additional flights to Perth, raising its weekly services to 18 from 14, and then boosting the number to 3 daily flights on March 1, 2013.
It is worth noting that by the end of the current year, Emirates will have 31 A380 planes from the current 25.
