(MENAFN) Algeria’s whole energy production increased 2.5 percent in the Jan-March period of this year compared with the same period of 2016, due to higher crude oil and natural gas output.
Meanwhile, the country still depends on oil and gas, which account for 60 percent of the budget and 94 percent of export revenue.
In addition, crude oil and natural gas production grew 3.6 percent in the cited period compared with the same period of 2016.
Accordingly, state energy firm Sonatrach proclaimed plans to build four refineries in order to increase the output of refined products from its recent level of 30mn tons per year.
