Etihad Cargo revenue hits USD804m in 9M

(MENAFN) Etihad Cargo, the freight division of Etihad Airways, said it has registered a revenue of We reported USD804 million in cargo revenue during the January-September period of this year, with expectations that the carrier’s full revenue would hit USD1 billion by the end of this year, Saudi Gazette reported.

Etihad Cargo said that it would continue its growth to ensure the success of the company by announcing that it has expanded its fleet of freighter aircraft with the addition of a third Boeing 747 freighter, which will be operated by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. as part of an agreement with Atlas.

The 747-400 freighter, which is set to become the third aircraft to be operated by Atlas Air Inc. on behalf of Etihad Cargo, is scheduled to come into service this month and has a capacity of 115 tons.

“Our partnership with Atlas Air is an important part of our success and we are confident that it will continue to deliver the operational excellence, outstanding customer service and security that will help us achieve our goal,” Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive Officer said.

This year, Etihad Cargo launched a new freighter-only service to Hanoi, bringing the total destinations it currently services to 12 destinations including: Chittagong, Djibouti, Dubai World Central, Eldoret, Guangzhou, Houston, Kabul, Miami, Quito, Sharjah and Viracopos.

The delivery of the Boeing 747 will also bring Etihad Cargo’s freighter fleet to 10 aircraft, consisting four Airbus A330-200F, three Boeing B777F, and three Boeing 747F aircraft.
