(MENAFN) Etihad Airways revenue grew to USD1.4 billion in the first three month of 2014, with an increase of 27 percent, Arabian Business reported.
The UAE flag carrier said that around 3.2 million passengers flew with Etihad, up 14 percent compared to the same period in 2013, which is double the 5.8 percent global growth rate predicted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for 2014.
Etihad said that it outperformed the global market as well, recording a revenue of USD243 million in the first quarter by carrying 127,821 tons of freight and mail.
The 26 percent annual increase was seven times higher than IATA prediction, which places Etihad Cargo on the right track to become a billion-dollar business this year.
