(MENAFN) Etisalat announced it has signed a global framework agreement with Microsoft, the global software giant, to enhance the telecommunication’s operations by using the Microsoft platform which would result in improving productivity as well as lead to operational excellence, Gulf News reported.

According to Etisalat, the agreement will help them to access Moicrosoft’s Office 365, thus providing their customers across 3 countries with enterprise-grade social networking as well as the ability to use collaboration tools such as Yammer, Lync and SharePoint , which would result in reducing communication barriers across the group, enhancing information sharing, and in transferring knowledge.

The tools, which have been designed by Microsoft, are especially made to assist large and small business enterprises in reducing the complexity and costs associated with running their businesses and they include Yammer, which is a cloud-based enterprise social network tool accessible only within its global organization, Lync, an enterprise-ready unified communications platform, and SharePoint Server technology, which helps users manage and share personal documents and insights with colleagues, keep teams in sync with shared document libraries, task lists and calendars and stay up to date with company information and news.

“This agreement will also enable Etisalat to build a strong, unified, flexible platform to meet its unique organizational and operational needs, whether in the cloud, hybrid, or on-premises. This collaboration with Microsoft is an important one, that we believe will improve our ability to communicate across multiple markets, share information and best practice effectively, and standardize performance across all geographies,” Chief Technology Officer of Etisalat Group said.
