29 Dec 2013

(MENAFN) New statistics in Saudi Arabia show that USD162 million was remitted by citizens every day, coming at a total of USD59 billion this year, Arabian Business reported.

The total remitted figure was higher than that registered last year despite the amnesty on illegal workers, through which over 1 million expatriates left the country.

Remittances from expatriates this year increased 17 percent versus last year. Expatriates make up two-thirds of the kingdom’s population of 28m.
