10 Sep 2016

(MENAFN) A government source said that the Moroccan government expects a growth in the local Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 4.5% in 2017, up from less than 2% in 2016, after the worst drought in decades.

Morocco’s drought slashed its cereal harvest to 3.35 million tons, down by 70% from 2015’s record 11 million tones.

Additionally, the source said the government had forecasted 4.5% growth in 2017 national budget.
