(MENAFN) flydubai’s COO, Hamad Obaidalla, stated that the carrier, which at the current time serves 54 destinations, plans to serve an excess of over 60 destinations by the end of the year, reported Khaleej Times.
Obaidalla added that the budget airline will also increase its fleet size to 34 planes, from the current 28.
He noted that with the 28 current aircraft, the carrier is able to reach nearly 70 destinations.
The COO said that starting April 21, flydubai will launch its service to Juba, the capital city of the Republic of South Sudan, with 4-weekly flights, while in May, it will begin 3 flights per week to Oman’s Salalah.
Moreover, starting May 21, the low-cost airline will launch 3 weekly flights to Sri Lanka’s Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport.
It is worth noting that flydubai was founded in March 2008, and started operations in June 2009.
