25 Aug 2013

(MENAFN) Food consumption in Saudi Arabia is forecasted to grow by 4.2 percent between 2011 and 2015, Saudi Gazette reported.

This expected rise is due to many factors including rising population numbers, rising income and a powerful economy.

This year, around USD15 billion were assigned by the Saudi government for the agricultural sector to develop projects to meet the rising demand.

The Kingdom is the largest food importer and the largest food market in the Middle East region.
