(MENAFN) UAE’s SouqExtra! CEO, Justin Wilshaw, stated that the chain of community retail centers inked a lease deal with French Carrefour Market, reported Arabian Business.

The global retail giant would lease 15,800 sq ft of anchor store space at SouqExtra’s new center in Dubai Silicon Oasis.

The center is scheduled to open in late 2013, and will have a gross leasable area of 32,600 sq ft.

Carrefour Market VP, Franck Rouquet, said that the deal will allow the retailer to supply residents of Dubai Silicon Oasis with a suitable, value-for-money daily or weekly shopping destination right within the community’s retail nerve center.

SouqExtra!, which at the current time has over than 110 retail partners, operates 5 centers in 3 emirates, including the Al Barsha, Al Quoz, and Ewan Residences in Dubai, Al Mirbah in Fujairah and Al Batheen in Al Ain.

The company’s retail mix includes Spinneys, McDonald’s, Subway, Lulu Express, Carrefour Market, Baskin Robbins, WeCare Pharmacy, Hatam Restaurant, Champion Cleaners, Grand Optics, Al Farooj Restaurant, and Gloria Jean’s Coffees.

It is worth noting that the UAE retailer plans to launch 4 new centers, 3 in Dubai and 1 in Ajman.
