French utility wins USD1.2b Saudi power plant deal

(MENAFN) French utility firm Engie won a main contract from Saudi Elect Co. in order to build a 1.504 MW power plant at an estimated cost of USD1.2bn.

Moreover, the plant is part of the Fadhili gas project which will become a key component of the kingdom”s master gas system.

In addition, the increase in the supply of natural gas will enhance by more than 17bn SCFD by 2020, enabling chances in Saudi industries like steel.

The project will be developed at a total cost of more than USD13.3bn with emphasis placed on in-kingdom expenditures.
