GCC 2,177-km rail way project to be discussed

28 Feb 2016

(MENAFN) The GCC railway project will be discussed despite weak global oil prices, which will focus on how to start the 2,177-km GCC railway project and how to fund it.

Furthermore, six nations will coordinate their plans for the project, and Kuwait is one of them, which will follow a system similar to that followed globally.

Accordingly, the GCC railway plan may be postponed by the huge reduction in the price of oil, which has cut the amount of funding available.

The project train would also join Qatar with Bahrain across the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway to be established between them, and from KSA through Al-Batha to UAE.
