GCC countries to start USD15.5 b rail projects in 2014

(MENAFN) GCC countries have announced the plan of constructing rail network between the six countries for USD15.5 billion that is expected to start in 2014, according to Saudi Gazette.

The new railway aims to link Oman in the south to Kuwait in the north through the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The railway is expected to positively affect the economy of the GCC countries by facilitating business processes and reducing the consumption of fuel for road travel.
