(MENAFN) Oman’s top energy official said that the Sultanate and its neighboring countries must cut their energy consumption, boost efficiencies and reduce subsidies to keep up with increasing demand in the region, Times of Oman reported.
The Omani minister of oil and gas said: “We must drastically reduce our consumption, not only in Oman but in the region as a whole.”
“This is not a single country issue but a GCC problem. The region needs to move quickly to find a solution,” said the president of Qatar’s Administrative Control & Transparency Authority.
