GM’s ME sales grow 13% in 2011

(MENAFN) General Motors (GM) reported 13 percent growth in its Meddle East sales last year from 2010, Arabia Business reported.

GN’s regional dealers reported total sales of 139,431vehicles in 2011, pushed by GM’s best monthly sales in December. Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac brands topped GM’s sales in the region.

Chevrolet sales were up 16 percent, GMC posted a 10 percent gain, while Cadillac registered 8 percent growth, said GM.

According to GM’s data, passenger cars increased by 8 percent, crossovers recorded 23 percent sales growth, sales of SUVs were up 21 percent, while pickups registered a 14 percent sales rise.

GM said also that retail sales increased by 44 percent in 2011 compared to the previous year.
