(MENAFN) Air Arabia, the UAE-based budget carrier, announced it is planning to launch flights to its 100th destination later this month, with regular direct services to Tbilisi, Georgia, starting from October 28, Arabian Business reported.
Air Arabia said it will fly twice weekly to Tbilisi, which is the capital and largest city of Georgia, from its primary Sharjah International Airport hub on Tuesdays and Fridays.
“The beautiful city of Tbilisi is a tremendous addition to the Air Arabia network and we are confident the route will prove to be highly popular with leisure and business travelers alike,” said Group CEO of Air Arabia.
During the January-June period of this year, Air Arabia has increased its route network by adding new routes to Cairo and Antalya, with the carrier currently operating from four hubs in the UAE, Morocco and Egypt.
Meanwhile, Air Arabia said that its April-June net profit more than doubled, reaching USD47.1 million, up from USD20.68 million in the corresponding period in 2013, as well as serving 1.6 million passengers in the quarter, which is an 8 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of last year.
