Government spending rise in Qatar

(MENAFN) In the past fiscal year, government spending in Qatar increased by 2.2 percent reaching USD48.9 billion. Also, development expenditure reached USD13.5 billion, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Spending on the public sector hit USD9.35 billion registering a 15 percent hike compared to the fiscal year before it.

Revenue increased to USD62.4 billion recording a 24.7 percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year. The gulf nation’s budget surplus increased by over a 100 percent hitting USD27.2 billion.
