(MENAFN) Indian firms are eyeing to increase their contribution and investment in Egypt’s energy sector, especially in renewable energy, Indian Embassy in Egypt said in a statement.

Indian energy firms working in Egypt are based in non-key projects, with funding for these projects coming from the World Bank through an Egyptian Ministry of Electricity project.

“There are 50 Indian companies in Egypt in different sectors, with 25 investors and 25 joint ventures working through the Egyptian agents. Their investments are close to USD3.1 billion,” the embassy said.
