Inflation in Egypt stabilizes at 30.9pct

(MENAFN) The annual inflation rate in Egypt stabilized at 30.9 percent in June, unchanged from May, as proclaimed the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

Moreover, the economic management, showed by the leaders of monetary and fiscal policies, is able to cut inflation to rates below 16 percent in the last quarter of next year.

In addition, annual inflation in cities increased in June to 29.8 percent, against 29.7 percent in May, whereas it decreased in the countryside from 32.2 percent to 32.1 percent.

Monthly inflation through the country has continued to drop for the fifth month in a row in June to record at 0.8 percent down from 1.6 percent in May.
