Insurance firms in KSA made USD48.5 m losses in H1

(MENAFN) Insurance firms in Saudi Arabia registered USD48.5 million in losses in this year’s first six months. During the same period last year, insurance companies earned USD36.8 million, Saudi Gazette reported.

The Cooperative Insurance Company (Tawuniya), the Arabian Cooperative Insurance Company and Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance had losses of USD18.6 million, USD18.4 million and USD6.6 million respectivley.

Insurance premiums this year in the Kingdom increased by 19 percent reaching USD3.4 billion up from USD2.85 billion the previous year.
