(MENAFN) Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Danaeefar, said that in the current year, Iran’s annual non-oil exports to Iraq surpassed USD5 billion, from USD790 million in 2005, reported Tehran Times.

Danaeefar added that the two countries inked a USD400 million deal to set up a gas pipeline from Iran to Iraq, adding that Iranian firms were projected to construct 2 power plants in Iraq.

On the other hand, the Iranian Customs Administration said that Iranian non-oil exports rose 10 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching 56.164 million tons.

It is worth noting that in the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year, which ended on December 21, the value of Iran’s non-oil exports, including gas condensates, surged 38 percent year-on-year, to USD31.9 billion.
